Presentation of the blog

So this is my blog. I have been thinking for a long time whether to do it or not. In the end, since it will probably only be read by my friends and me, I lose nothing.

"On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog"

Who am I? You can find it here. What do I intend? I’m not sure. My friends say I have interesting things to say. I don’t have that certainty, but what I do have is a level of geekiness that continually pushes me to try all kinds of technologies and tools. I am a hacker, in the original sense of the word:

Originally, hacker simply meant advanced computer technology enthusiast (both hardware and software) and adherent of programming subculture *

Well… that I am “advanced” is somewhat debatable. At least, I aspire to be so. And what better way to improve in this aspect than to put my ideas in a blog so that I can share and discuss them with my mutuals?

I will try to teach things that I already know or that I am learning. I will also try to give advice, especially in the field of computer security. I am neither an expert nor nor do I intend to give such an impression, as much as I aspire to be one.

But why a blog? Why on my own domain? Why not do all this on a social network? Simply because over time I have realized, through experience, that most of the interesting content I have come across on the Internet, I have found on blogs like this one. I’ve seen outdated looking pages with brilliant content. Websites that I have reached through links that were on other websites, that were on other websites… and so on ad infinitum. When I move through aggregators like Hacker News or Lobste.rs, I get to the best content I could imagine. And what a pleasure when you see people who are experts in their subjects, writing on crappy websites… without ads or any kind of bullshit!

A blog is also a good way to attract interesting people to you. If people who might come to read a random page like this, with such niche content, read beyond the first two paragraphs, are very likely to have the same interests as you. Not to mention if they write to you.

Therefore, it seems a good idea to create a blog. The content? Mainly about IT and cybersecurity. I may also upload some random stuff that has nothing to do with computers. The important thing is to upload whatever and whenever I feel like and not to depend on any algorithm or SEO techniques or be worried about gaining or losing followers or likes.

If I already know you, thank you for reading me. And if we don’t know each other, you are welcome!
